Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to what local businesses ask us most about Google Business Profile, local search, and how eGumball works.
1.
How long does Google Business Profile optimization take to show results?
It depends on your market, your competition, and where your listing starts. Some fixes, like correcting your categories and business details, can take effect within weeks. Citation cleanup and review building pay off over the following months.
No honest company can guarantee a specific date or position, and Google warns against anyone who does. What we can promise is accurate, consistent information about your business everywhere Google looks, which is what moves rankings. 2.
Can I use my own website with my Google Business Profile?
Yes. Your Google Business Profile links to your website, so we'll review your site to make sure your business name, address, phone number, and service areas match your profile exactly. If your site is missing local details like your city and the areas you serve, we'll show you what to add.

3.
How do I track my Google Business Profile rankings and calls?
Every client gets a login to the eGumball client control panel, where you can see rankings, profile views, calls, direction requests, and reports. If you'd like to walk through your results with someone, call us at
1-800-890-8940.
4.
Can I change the keywords my campaign targets?
Yes. Services and seasons change, and your campaign should change with them. Tell us what you'd like to add or remove, and our specialists will update your campaign. Keyword changes typically take effect within 30 days.
5.
What is eGumball's refund and cancellation policy?
You can cancel and receive a 100% refund within three days of signing your agreement. Send your cancellation by email to [email protected] or by fax to 1-855-890-8940. Cancellations can't be made by phone, and we'll email you a written confirmation.
Refunds aren't available after the three-day period. Please review our Terms page for full details before you sign.

6.
Why does eGumball require a service agreement?
Local search results build over time, and we invest significant time and resources setting up every new account. Your agreement covers an initial service term, spells out what we'll deliver, and includes a three-day cancellation period with a full refund.
After your initial term, your service continues month to month until you cancel in writing. Many of our clients have stayed with us for years. You can review our full terms anytime on our Terms page.

7.
Can I make changes to my Google Business Profile myself?
You can, but please tell us first. Changes made outside your campaign, like editing your Google Business Profile, adding categories, or changing your hours or phone number, can conflict with the work we're doing and cause your ranking to drop.
A quick call or email lets us make the change the right way, or let you know if it's likely to cause problems. In the worst case an edit can trigger a review that takes the listing down - if that has already happened, see what to do about a suspended profile.

8.
Why do duplicate Google listings hurt my ranking?
A duplicate listing is a second listing for the same business, often left over from an old address, an old phone number, or a listing someone else created. Duplicates split your reviews and confuse Google about which information is correct. Google may suppress or merge them, which can keep your real listing off the first page.
Some duplicates only surface once your campaign is underway. Please tell us about any past addresses, phone numbers, or listings you've had so we can find and fix them early.

9.
Why should I tell eGumball about my other marketing campaigns?
Other marketing, like another SEO company, a directory service, or an ad campaign, can create duplicate listings or conflicting business information without you realizing it. When we know what else is running, we can catch conflicts early and make sure all of your marketing works together instead of against itself. That's why your agreement asks you to tell us about past and current campaigns, and to check with us before signing up for any new marketing service.
10.
If Google Business Profile is free, why do I need eGumball?
Listings are free, but keeping them accurate isn't. Your business information needs to match across over 250 directories and data sources, and that data changes constantly as sites update, merge, and pull information from each other. Google also adjusts how it ranks local businesses throughout the year.
eGumball manages all of it on an ongoing basis, catching problems before they hurt your ranking, so you can focus on running your business. Our full range of solutions covers the map, your website, and paid search.

11.
Why do I pay before I see results?
Most of the work that moves your ranking happens up front. Right away, we audit and optimize your Google Business Profile, correct your business information across directories, and handle verification. Google then needs time to recognize those changes and build trust in your listing.
After that, we keep monitoring and updating your campaign so your ranking holds up through Google's changes. That first month is also what the one-time set up fee on our pricing page covers.

12.
How do I update my business name, address, or phone number?
Please send changes in writing within 10 days, by email to [email protected] or through your client control panel. This includes any change to your business name, address, phone number, website, or billing information.
We verify every change across each directory and search engine, which can temporarily slow your ranking progress. Changes made within the first 60 days after setup may delay results by up to 30 business days, so please double-check your application before you submit it.

13.
Will my service fees increase when my agreement renews?
When your initial term ends, your service continues automatically on a month-to-month basis at the same monthly rate until canceled by either party. You can cancel month-to-month service anytime with written notice by email or fax at least 30 days before your billing date.
14.
What should I do if someone calls claiming to be eGumball?
Hang up and call us directly at 1-800-890-8940.
Some companies call business owners claiming to be search engine specialists, or claiming they control the work eGumball is doing on your listing, and then ask for payment to "hold" your position. Google doesn't charge for a Business Profile, and Google itself warns against anyone who claims a "special relationship" with Google. If you're ever unsure whether a call is really from us, call the number on this page before sharing any information or making a payment.

What are citations in local SEO?
Citations are mentions of your business name, address, and phone number (often called NAP) on other websites, like Yelp, Facebook, Bing, and online directories. Google cross-checks these citations to confirm your business information is accurate.
When your citations match everywhere, Google trusts your Business Profile more and it can rank higher. When they don't, your ranking suffers. Managing citations is a core part of eGumball's Google Business Profile optimization, and it sits alongside the website work covered by SEO.
